Already employed and want into AI work? The highest-leverage move isn't job hunting, it's becoming the AI person on your team. Volunteer for the AI feature nobody else wants to own, ship one real thing with a model inside your current job, and you've got proof on your resume that you know what you're doing.
An internal move into AI is almost always easier than landing a cold outside hire, and you get paid while you do it with basically zero risk. Then, once you have the evidence, you use it to land something better elsewhere.
